About This Retro Game
Faceball 2000 was one of the first FPS games on consoles, using a novel raycasting engine to create 3D environments on the SNES. Players navigate mazes while shooting floating smiley faces.
The game supported up to 4-player multiplayer via the Super Multitap accessory, making it an early console multiplayer pioneer. Single-player mode featured basic AI enemies with different behaviors.
Despite technical limitations, Faceball 2000 delivered surprisingly smooth gameplay. Its abstract visual style and simple controls made it accessible to early 90s console gamers new to the FPS genre.
