About This Retro Game
As part of Acclaim's baseball series, ASB 2000 was the first to feature the MLBPA license with real player names and likenesses. The game included all 30 MLB teams with accurate rosters and multiple stadiums modeled after real ballparks.
The innovative batting system used a rotating pie chart to represent pitch location and timing. Pitchers could throw 12 different pitch types with variable speeds and break patterns.
With commentary by ESPN's Jon Miller and a create-a-player mode, ASB 2000 set new standards for baseball realism on N64. The game was later inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame's video game exhibit.
