Monster World IV
Monster World IV is an action-platformer with RPG elements, developed by Westone and released for the Mega Drive in 1994. Players control Asha, a green-haired girl who hears spirits calling for help and embarks on a journey to save them. She is joined by a magical floating creature named Pepelogoo and a sarcastic Genie.

The fourth and final installment of the Monster World series (a spin-off of Wonder Boy) was originally released only in Japan. It combines 2D platforming with light RPG mechanics: players collect coins, purchase equipment upgrades, and explore linear dungeons with environmental puzzles. Combat allows sword swings in multiple directions and blocking with a shield.
The game is renowned for its charming protagonist Asha, one of the few female heroes in 16-bit action games. Her companion Pepelogoo is central to gameplay—used for hovering, double-jumping, and interacting with objects. The vibrant sprite work and catchy soundtrack by Jin Watanabe represent some of the Mega Drive's finest technical achievements.
Monster World IV remained a cult classic outside Japan for nearly two decades, playable only via fan translations until its official English release in 2012 on Virtual Console, PSN, and Xbox Live Arcade.
