New mechanics include the Mirage Radar for tracking rare Pokémon, an expanded breeding system with inherited traits, and a reputation system that changes how NPCs interact with you. The game features full physical/special split and includes abilities from up to Generation 5.
Visually, the game pushes the GBA to its limits with custom sprite work, animated battle backgrounds, and a completely redesigned UI. The original soundtrack blends classic Pokémon melodies with orchestral arrangements and region-specific motifs.
