About This Retro Game
Emerald Azure brings together every evil organization from across the Pokémon universe into a single, volatile region. Each faction pursues its own ambitions, forming uneasy alliances that slowly build toward a larger, overarching threat. The current story version takes players from Littleroot through Slateport City, featuring new areas like Woody Woods and South Dewford, with custom Gym battles that follow strict type themes. The narrative is still in development, with the story endpoint currently set after the Aqua Grunt fights in Slateport.
Built on the Emerald Expansion engine, the game features advanced enemy AI capable of planning multiple turns ahead and making smart predictions based on your team composition. Every trainer uses EV-trained Pokémon at the level cap, and Set battle mode is forced with no healing items allowed in trainer battles. The difficulty curve starts moderately before ramping up after the first Gym, with optional boss battles available before Gym 1 that can challenge even prepared players. A level cap system, scaling NPC battles, and full EV/IV control ensure fights remain strategic and fair.
The hack includes Pokémon from Generations 1 through 9, all updated with Radical Red’s stat, ability, and movepool adjustments. Beyond the core roster, 116 variant forms with custom evolutions, 9 new Eeveelutions, and 26 original Mega Evolutions add massive team-building depth. Signature moves and abilities accompany these additions. Modern quality-of-life features include following Pokémon, move effectiveness indicators, a Sword & Shield-inspired UI, Stardew Valley-style fishing, a quest journal system, and field effects inspired by Pokémon Reborn. With infinite Rare Candies and full stat editing available, players can focus entirely on strategy and team composition.
